The Top Ten Anime of 2008
Shulato is two thousand eight’s top ten spot for the top. A young boy of sixteen and his friend Gai Kuroki during a martial arts match are suddenly divided in a new world where they fight among legacy, legend, and gods. Personally, I never thought such a weird style could get so much attention. Now that I’ve seen this a few more times I have become addicted! This show is your top nine, please give a hand to Revolutionary Girl Utena! This is an amazing story which I might add includes awesome lesbian fencers who are so cool. The top eight of two thousand eight’s best and favorite anime series is Flame of Recca. Flame has the coolest action, costume, weaponry, and fighting ever seen. Inuyasha is taking over the number seven top spot! Inuyasha is a half demon in love with a dead girl and falling for her reincarnation who is from the future! At the same time he is forced to fight vicious battles against terrible demons to protect the girl Kagomai and her sacred jewel shard! What a hero huh? Lain, a deep and philosophical anime, has been moved to your top six America. This heartbreaking and touching story tells of a girl very broken and beautiful. As for your top five we have a treat for all of you. This is possibly the gravest ending to such a “cutesy” show. I won’t spoil the ending but lets hear it for Magic Knight Rayearth! This series also comes in manga at many locations near you. All right the top then for two thousand eight’s best and favorite anime is winding down. Our top four is Marmalade Boy. I’ve never seen this but reading about it’s reviews I’ve seen people say, “This anime is so gay I love it!” and “Totally awesome.” so thumbs up for our top four. The top three anime features an award for being the longest running soccer anime. It sounds better than it is. Its time for our top two! I hope your as excited as I am. How many of you love the weird, absurd, and hilarious tactics of Dr. Slump because he just won the top two spot. Yay for Dr.slump! Now its time for our number one. Featured on cartoon network’s tunomi, Rurourin Kenshin is an intense, beautifully touching, funny series that is taking over two thousand eight’s number one most loved, hated, and watched hot spot. There is something in this for everyone threw out this thrilling adventure. You don’t believe me? Check for yourself any Saturday nights 7/8 central on Cartoon Network or visit G4. Laddies and gentlemen this has been your top ten anime for two thousand and eight, thank you.
To Twitter or Not To Twitter.
To twitter or not to twitter? Theres a lot of talk going around today about twitter. Twitter.com is a web sight used basically to let your friends know what your doing as well as how your doing. Threw viewing your “followers” your friends may view the different people interested in being your friend or apart of your life. They could click “following” and see just what it is your itnerested in. Maybe your following a recently added favorite author of yours or a base ball team that your friends never even knew you were interested in. Thats why people are finding twitter to be so great. That in my opinion is just silly though. If you want to know those things invite your friend out for coffee, start a chat, and let them know your interested in their life not their web page. You can not post on twitter even two hundred words. The updates they have made possible for you to use are simply to let people know what your doing. If I wanted to know I could just send a text message saying, “Hey, whats up?” or “Whatcha doin’ buddy?” or hey here is an idea why not pick up the phone once in a while and give them a call, “Hey, how are you doing? Ugh, I had a rough day myself, wanna go out for coffee later? Great! See you then.” The more I play with twitter and start to pick it apart the more I see its a redundant failure. I use myspace and have learned the ways of face book. They are highly recommended over twitter if you were to ask my honest opinion in the matter. Myspace allows you to comment, message, and post but wait thats not all they also have a neat little thing that lets you tell people what your doing, how your feeling, and what smiley you feel like being that they call a status. Basically all twitter is comes down to just a really crappy status that limits what you say. I feel like twitter is just a failure. In my opening question, to twitter or not to twitter, I chose not to twitter. What about you?
branding, and I don’t mean cows.
After reading Branding101 I’ve come to the conclusion personal branding is very important for the appreance you wish to pressent career wise. Jobs are in some pretty braud catagories these days like plumber, politision, janitter, president, historical reinactment guy who works on minimun wadge but gets free chillie. The politition obviously would require a more detailed and presentable personal branding stature than that of the plumber. The president and the historical reinactment guy, well you can decide for your self about that. If I were applying for a vice presidency position in a leading fation agency I would deffinantly need to present myself professionally as the best. Personal branding can really change the way some one looks at you. Even if your just adding a blazer to your wardrobe wearing it over a shirt to an interview gives you a whole new look that they will favor and appreciate that you took the time to look your best. I think personal branding, in many ways and job applications, is a very important part of the career scene.
Obama Takes the Mike
Today President Obama takes the mike. Speaking after a morning meeting with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown he took to the podeum saying G-20 delegates have “a responsibility to act with a sense of urgency” and come up with “tough new rules” regarding the world’s economy. America is in great debt as you should have known. Responsibility for this is found in many answers and sources and it cannot be pinpointed to just one cause. The stock market was never in unbelievably good shape but now its really falling threw and Obama won’t stand for it. He has devised a plan to pull America out of this great debt and into a great future. Soon our economy will rejoice at the progress he and his affiliates will have made. Obama says, “Now we cannot afford half-measures and we cannot go back to the kind of risk-taking that leads to bubbles that inevitably burst. So we have a choice: We either shape our future or let events shape it for us.” Which will America choose? To continue on resting the blame in another mans favor, passing the bucket, pointing the finger, or will they lead with Obama in hopes of a brighter future? We can only hope he is right in his quote that the summit cannot solve all the world’s problems, but it can make “real and unprecedented progress.” If the president is serious about this I predict an unimaginable turn around for this country. However, if he is wrong, mistaken, or just a little too confident all of America could be looking at a very bleak future. In either case he has made it clear that we, America, have passed through an era of profound irresponsibility and into the age of Obama. We can only hope for the best because our country is in this great man’s eyes as well as his hands. You know I didn’t really get that into my favorite movies so I’ll go on, they are the texas chainsaw masacher, the strangers, beauty and the beast, the lake house, the note book, gladiator, 300, high tenison, and some others. I used to drink a million doctor peppers a day but now I am a big sweet tea addict and man do I like it sweet. I’m pretty fair at art. My drawing skills are my strongest. I am an oh kay cook. Quotes
“You see things; and you say ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were; and I say ‘Why not?’” George Bernard Shaw had a talent for drama and wrote more than 60 plays. The majority of his works were written around the story plot of prevailing social problems but have a stroke of comedy to relieve its audience. He uses a measure of different literary titles and descriptions to draw in new viewers and once they are there it is found very hard to break away from any of his storries. I believe his quote meant, in a much lessened form, something along the lines of “When men look at the stars they all ask the same ‘why’ and when men walk they all walk in the same line, and I ask ‘why?’” That was not really my best wording but I think your beggining to understand that George believed himself to be the dreamer and the visionary that no one really understood. He was seperate and different from any social satire his world really came close to. Every one conformed to asking the same questions, saying the same things, looking a certain way, liking common things, and as socioty grew into a bland mold he molded a future for himself quite different from the rest. People in the 1850′s and the 1870′s were all, as many sociotys are today, given problems that they choose to ignore with parties, plays, any entertainment that each of them could enjoy with everyone else as to feel less threatened and alone like when the problems they face become reality. I believe this quote was very inspirational. It reaches me on a level in such a way that I think to myself, “You can do better. Why not do better? Why not go further, because you can do anything.” When people grow older slowly for reasons unknown to me, though they’ve been taught to beleive it threw all of childhood, they slowly stop believing they can do anything or be anything they want to be. This quote makes me want to refresh their memmory. For writing an adapted screenplay George Bernand Shaw was awarded an Academy Award for Writing, later in 1925 the Nobel Prize in Literature, and his nationality was Irish. His home he never knew but his relatives in herritage were proud of him.
